Sacred South India and the Urs of Hazrat Inayat Khan
January 20 - February 7, 2007

Tour Guides: Shahabuddin, Gabriella, Mukesh, and Swami-ji

Travel with Shahabuddin Less, Gabriella Giubilaro, Pandit Mukesh Desai and Swami Sundaranand-ji to sacred sites in South India and Delhi from January 20 to February 7, 2007. We will have time to meditate with Swami-ji, sing with Mukesh, do yoga with Gabriella and be inspired by Shahabuddin, each other, the atmosphere of sacred places and other interesting beings we meet along the way. We will travel to Hyderabad and to holy sites, temples and places of great spiritual energy in South India.

  One of our stops will be Anandashram, a place of pilgrimage for saddhus from all over India, founded by Papa Ram Das and Mother Krishnabai, whom Murshid S.A.M. called "the highest being on the planet." We will also spend a week at Sri Shailam Temple, one of India’Äôs most important Shiva temples, absorbing its divine atmosphere as we engage together in meditation, yoga, sacred music and sobhet (spiritual discourse).

We finish the trip with the Urs of Hazrat Inayat Khan in New Delhi hosted this year by the Sufi Ruhaniat International. Guests and presenters include Pir Zia Inayat Khan, Pir Shabda Kahn, Murshid Wali Ali Meyer, Murshida Taj Inayat, and Zuleikha.

The price of the tour is $3,490. A deposit of $1,000 is due September 15, 2006, and the balance is due November 30, 2006. The tour begins in Hyderabad, and the price of the tour includes all flights and transportation within India, all entrance fees, all lodging, and breakfast and dinner everyday. We will be staying in the nicest hotels available, and in Hyderabad and Delhi, we will stay at 4 or 5 star hotels. The price does not include lunches, drinks, visas or international airfare. If you want a single room the additional cost is $1,100. For your convenience, we will be happy to purchase your international airline tickets for you for a fee of $200. We do our best to secure the least expensive flights available (on reputable airlines), and often the net charge is still less than what you might pay.

Teachers

Shahabuddin David Less is the president of Daivd Less Tours, a successful business with a 25 year history of exotic journeys, using travel as a mode for personal development. He is a teacher of meditation, a world-wide lecturer on global and personal harmony, and the international head of the Universal Worship - an organization dedicated to honoring equally all the religions of the world. Living in Sarasota Florida, Shahabuddin serves as spiritual director of Rising Tide International, a center for esoteric studies and interfaith understanding which he founded 15 years ago. For the last 5 years Rising Tide has been the impetus for a program in the Holy Land that brings spiritual leaders and participants of the four faiths of the area together. Shahabuddin's insight, wit, and gentle manner have endeared him to his students and friends around the world. He is also the author of Universal Meditations and has been published in various journals and magazines in Europe and the Americas.

Gabriella Giubilaro began her practice of Iyengar Yoga in 1973 and is the co-founder of the Light on Yoga Association in Italy. In 1977, after receiving her Ph.D. in physics, Gabriella decided to dedicate her life to yoga. Her warm heart, keen intelligence and generous nature flow through her teaching. Her deep knowledge of yoga reaches students at every level.

Pandit Mukesh Desai is an internationally acclaimed classical Indian vocalist, a foremost disciple of the great Pandit Jasraj. He performs and teaches throughout the world. Mukesh has a deep understanding of the harmony of the sound of each moment and has the rare ability to open the hearts of his listeners to the essence, which is love. His meditative offerings on the mystical nature of sound surpass all boundaries.

Swami Sundaranand is a great yogi, ascetic, trekker, mountaineer, photographer, naturalist and ecologist. He took the brahmacharia sadhu vow over 55 years ago and since then has lived in Gangotri near the source of the sacred Ganges River in the Himalayas. He has spent a major part of his life engaged in meditation. Swami Sundaranand is truly an enlightened soul full of love and light. Those who have the privilege and blessing of sitting in his atmosphere during meditation experience an elevation in consciousness that can only be described as divine.

Kothr-an-neda Anna Less has been a practitioner of Chinese Medicine for over 15 years. She is one of the few westerners who have obtained a PhD in Chinese Medicine in China. Anna has also been a life long student of mysticism and has studied the esoteric teachings of Sufism under the guidance of Pir Vilayat Khan for over 30 years. In this capacity she has been working with the Hope Project and guiding spiritual pilgrimages in India for over 25 years. As a wife, mother, mystic, healer, and spiritual pilgrim, Anna offers a deep, loving and experienced presence on the tour.
