Pilgrimage is a traditional practice in many cultures and spiritual paths. Travel with a sacred intention has a deep, catalyzing effect on our personal growth and on smoothing the way towards fulfilling our life's purpose.
Traditionally, Sufis and others visit sacred sites such as the tombs and retreat caves of saints. These places have a potent alchemical magnetism that has to be experienced to be believed. The "partition between the worlds" is much thinner; deep meditation is easy, and the atmosphere of blessing in them can have a permanently transformative and healing effect on one's consciousness, opening the subtle centers and freeing us of accumulated mental and emotional dross.
In Winter, 2012, a group of us will journey to and through India, making pilgrimage to key sacred sites and living Sufi masters, drinking deeply of the powerful vibrations there. We will begin and end each day with meditation and other spiritual practices to help deepen and integrate our experiences, including Sama in the company of living Sufi masters.
